About Adam Nisenson, LMFT, CSAT
Known as “The Betrayal Shrink,” Adam is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. He specializes in guiding men through the complex journey of partner betrayal trauma, drawing from both his personal experience with partner betrayal and extensive clinical expertise.
Graduating from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Depth Psychology, Adam is dedicated to addressing issues such as partner betrayal, infidelity, and sex addiction. His approach is compassionate and honest, helping men rediscover their identities and reconstruct their lives with purpose. Adam’s mission is to empower men to emerge more resilient and self-aware from these experiences.
Adam truly understands the deep impact of partner betrayal because he was there over thirteen years ago, when his world was shattered after his then-wife confessed to an affair. The ensuing grief, confusion, and overwhelming anger felt like mourning for a lost identity. This intense loneliness and sense of failure led Adam to realize the scarcity of resources for men in similar situations. His salvation came from his men’s group, which provided a supportive brotherhood and his own personal growth and therapy. This experience inspired Adam to become The Betrayal Shrink, focusing on helping men navigate the darkness of partner betrayal. His mission is to offer a guiding light to ensure no man must face this journey alone.
